All instruments come with
The following to-do list has to be completed before any instrument is dispatched:
Pegs/Pegbox/Nut:
Bridge
Almost everything done to the bridge has an impact on the sound
~ Fit the feet
~ Achieve best height
~ Achieve best curve
~ Achieve best thickness
~ Make sure the angle is 90 degrees at the back of the bridge
~ Refinements - arching between feet and many other refinements
Soundpost
Everything done to the soundpost has an impact on the sound
~ Use good material
~ Adjust length
~ Adjust angle of cuts
~ Place it to maximise the sound! Bridge and soundpost are crucial factors in the preparation of the instrument - Animato is well known for its skills in sound maximisation
Tailpiece
We have found that a light-weight tail piece with integrated string adjusters works well with most instruments, no matter which category they belong to. You may feel that woodden tail pieces look somewhat more professional, but we have found that there are 'sound' benefits when using a light-weight tail piece, and many professionals use them these days in combination with modern strings.
~ lubricate inbuilt string adjusters
~ adjust tail nylon to optimise the position of the tail piece
this will warrant the correct string length between bridge and tail piece
Bow
~ test the bow for tension and straightness
~ adjust the tightness of the frog
~ lubricate the bow screw
~ rosin the bow with very good rosin
